ASL

Overview

The Dawson County Signing Tigers strive to provide an environment that supports and encourages students to communicate with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Our students participate in events that are catered towards the Deaf community of North Georgia. Students are expected to interact with peers using ASL, as well as attend club meetings regularly.

We host events for the North Georgia Deaf community, including: holiday parties, interpreted events, and fundraisers for nonprofits.

Our club has established relationships with Georgia State University, Valdosta State University, The University of Georgia, and Spellman to encourage DCHS students to pursue studies of ASL in higher education.

Our club meets during scheduled club days throughout the year. Additional meetings may be held as scheduled by the club sponsor. We meet in room C-12 on the World Languages Hallway.
